Talk on Smart Care

26.03.2014 Vortrag Smart Care

How can smart grids support the home care of elderly people?
What kind of additional possibilities are arising for our future due to latest developments in technology?
Christian Neureiter will discuss opportunities and risks through the merging of Ambient Assisted Living (AAL) and Smart Grid technologies on 26 March 2014 at the “Forschungscafé des Schülerforschungszentrums Berchtesgaden”.

M/490 SGAM Toolbox released

News_Toolbox_ Christian300x225For organzing a model-based development of Smart Grid Systems in a manageable way, we created a special tool: the SGAM (Smart Grid Architecture Model) toolbox.
Our new toolbox enables the integration of the European Smart Grid Architecture Model in a Model-Driven Architecture (MDA) process. The European Smart Grid Architecture Model was realized by the European Commitee for Electrochemical Standardization within the framework of the European Standardization Mandate M/490. Thus, we support users in dealing with complex Smart Grid Systems.

“Besides providing support in the elementary steps of development as analysis, architecure, design and implementation, our toolbox offers a consistent and structured representation of the realizable systems and, at the same time, provides a basis for structured KPI (Key Performance Indicator) Evaluation”, explains Christian Neureiter, member of our research team and primarily responsible for the development.
Meanwhile the SGAM Toolbox has been approved by Sparx Systems as a 3rd party solution for Energy Systems. The toolbox initial version is offered as “free to use” (please just let us know you are using our toolbox and let us reference your logo/website here) and is available here.

Talk on IT-Security at the eDAY 2014 in Salzburg

06.03.2014 Vortrag Hacking eDAY“Hacking – an insight”
In order to develop a good defense in IT, it is useful to know the attacks. Using practical examples that are demonstrated live, an overview of threat scenarios in the IT security is given. Alongside classics such as Man-in-the-Middle attacks, Pishing and social Engineering. Dominik Engel will also introduce new developments and discuss countermeasures.
The eDAY is organized by the UBIT (Fachgruppe Unternehmensberatung und Informationstechnologie) of Salzburgs Chamber of Commerce. The latest developments and application possibilities in information and communication technology are presented on this year´s event on 6 March 2014.

Paper presentation at DED&M 2014

DED&M Februar2014 fürEntrustWebseite_300x225Christian Neureiter presented our research on handling advanced and distributed Smart Grid Systems at DED&M in Paris. Our approach provides a promising basis für a domain specific architecture development with integration of the European standardization mandate M/490.
